Oh the things that come out of 5 year olds mouths!

Hudson walks in the other day and tells me this. "Mom, did you know that people have hair on their privates and none on their bodies and dogs have hair all over their bodies but none on their privates. Cool huh?"
What am I to think? How does my 5 year old make such keen observations that I just seem to never notice. He is always making me giggle =)

our favorite pet ever

As I was browsing through our pictures online, I came across these of Roxy! We found Roxy while we were 4 wheeling and honestly thought that she had been ran over and was on the brink of death. The kids of course wanted to give her a fighting chance so we agreed that we would take her to our house in Richfield and see what happened.
Upon arrival, I ran over to the family dollar and bought an eye dropper and kitten milk, while Sean was deciding where to dig the hole to bury her in the backyard. Well, after dropping a little milk in her mouth she started looking a little more lively. By that evening, she took her 1st steps and we were all in love!
We brought her home and she was with us for 6 months! She was the best. I potty trained her in a litter box which she caught onto the 1st day. Her little hands were just fascinating, how she would clean her food, and how very soft they were. She was only nice to us, other people made her very nervous and she would run and hide and sometimes put out this awful smelling musk defense scent. YUCK!
We let her go over by my mom's house in Bloomington and she made friends with some other racoons, whom were probably very jealous of her shiny well maintained hair. We still see her every so often and are proud to say that she now has 3 little babies of her own.
I know you are thinking how racoons carry diseases, so where we. We had a vet come and check her out and she was only a few weeks old when we found her and the only food she had was from her mothers teet. So the vet said she was no different than a dog or cat, because she hadn't been exposed to anything.

1st vacation of the year!

Anyone that knows us well, knows that we love going on vacation. It can be a 2 day trip or a 3 week trip, we just love escaping reality and bonding together.

This year the kids had 2 full weeks out of school for the holidays. Some of you may moan at this, I get giddy with excitement and start planning.

We stayed in St. George the week of Christmas, there are so many things going on, fun family traditions that the kids do not want to miss out on. But the week of new years, we were out of here.

Sean brought home the RV and we loaded her up. I love this hillbilly side of our family. We just love being "on the road again!" I can just hear Willie Nelson singing this.

We headed to our most favorite spot --- Santa Barbara, California. What is not to love about this quaint oceanside town. We explore parks, the local zoo, walk out on the pier late at night when it's really foggy and this trip we went and explored the Santa Barbara Mission. I think I should have been raised Catholic because I just love all the crosses and decor of the Catholic churches. Would anyone really be offended if I had a huge wooden cross in my entryway???

Our 2nd favorite spot is 30 miles north of Santa Barbara. It is a small danish community called Solvang. Cutest town ever. It was in the movie "Sideways". We spent an entire day here shopping in the shops along main street.

We seem to head to Santa Barbara 2 to 3 times a year, we love it so much.

OK - So this was my New Year's resolution, I love looking at my friends and families blogs and thought they would enjoy looking at ours. I am so not computer savvy and hope that I catch on to all of this as I go.

Anyways, our family lives in St. George, Utah. My husband, Sean, is a custom home builder that has been idle for several years. I think our home that we are living in was his last big project and we moved in a year ago. We spend our days together like a little old couple.

I am a soccer mom that loves to take my kids to all their athletic functions. I do try to hit the gym 4-5 days a week to keep me happy and somewhat able to keep up with all these kids. I love my family so much and savor every day and moment, knowing how soon they will be off to college and on their own!

Kenzie is 15 and a freshman at Pine View. How funny that she goes to my high school. It doesn't seem that long ago that I was there. She is totally into soccer and basketball!

Jake and Jordan, my sweet little twins, aren't so little anymore!!! How can 2 kids that start so small, grow so big. They are the funnest kids ever and I am so thankful that they came together!

Hudson, what a crack up. This 5 year old is such a blessing to all of us. We all enjoy him so much. He finished our family off just right!

Maggie is our new puppy. She is a chorkie (chihuaua/yorkie mix)! Soon I will get a picture of her on here.
